Janet writes features, profiles and culture stories ranging from architecture, interiors and the decorative arts, fashion, food, the vaguely political, and the occasional extreme sport. She is the West Coast Editor of A Hotel Life and Editor at Large for The Tidalist.
Janet's work in color theory and aesthetics began with the beauty industry as a makeup artist. She established FACE Stockholm's PRO Team in New York and spent years with red carpet clients and backstage at shows, developing international partnerships with Scandinavian and European brands while leading the retail marketing initiative.
After training in French embroidery on a pig farm outside Nuremburg, Germany under the same artisans who create passementerie for Louis Vuitton and Chanel, she fell in love with textiles and design. During her time at Holland & Sherry, ("The finest cloths in the world"), she was an integral member of the design, development and production team while crafting the overall vision of HS Bespoke at the Elizabeth Street Gallery. She has collaborated on and supported interior design projects up and down the east coast, primarily in Manhattan and the Hamptons, at firms such as Pembrooke & Ives, Timothy Brown Studio and Stewart Manger Design.
Through the design industry's well-documented love of coffee table books, she was introduced to the publishing world and has had the opportunity to work with renowned publishing houses on fashion, interiors, food and fine art.
